Our Mural Story

On october 11, 2025 …

many community members and church congregants gathered to help paint “YOU ARE LOVED” on the southeast corner of our church building. There was much preparation leading up to this event. Several months earlier, an Outreach Committee came together to plan all the details. The mural artist, Alex Cook, was contacted, flyers were distributed, and ads were placed.

Alex Cook, a Boston-based artist, has now created more than 120 “YOU ARE LOVED” murals on other churches, youth organizations, government buildings, homeless shelters, and prisons in 20 states and multiple countries.

Alex indicates that, “It’s fun for people to come together and share in the creation of something that’s very visible to neighbors and travelers. But the message of being loved can resonate deeply with anyone whose thought needs to be uplifted.”
